Inside Rue La La

Are you a member of Rue La La? If so, tell us what you think of the site and the shopping. If not, let me give ya the scoop.

“Rue La La is an exclusive online destination of premier brand, private sale Boutiques that are open just two to three days each. Joining is free, but you must be sponsored by an existing Member.”

Fortunately I’m a member of Rue La La (I believe I was initially invited because I’m also a member of SmartBargains.com SmartShoppers Club--yes, I'm a recovering online shopping addict). The site uses the allure of well-known designer brands, good sale prices, limited quantities and members-only access to its advantage. The anticipation of upcoming sales and the limited-time-only offerings create a fun, competitive shopping experience. May the best shopper (or quickest clicker) win!

Each designer featured on Rue La La has their own boutique that is open for a specific amount of time. The collections may be previewed before the opening, but nothing can be purchased until the boutique is officially open. Notices are sent out via email announcing new events and reminders are delivered when a boutique opens (a very good thing since I can't keep track of all the promo emails I get!).

Most recently the site featured Calvin Klein swimwear. The bikinis, tankinis and one-piece suits normally retail for over $100 but at Rue La La they were at least half-off (some were only $47). You can actually find some reasonable prices and decent savings.

Other designers featured have included Prada, Vera Bradley, Kay Unger and many others you’d recognize in a heart beat. Not everything is going to be “inexpensive”. Let’s face it, unless it’s a fake, Prada is never cheap, but if you have the dinero (or a really generous benefactor) you can at least get a good deal (and feel like a super saavy shopper). What’s not to like about that?

I have yet to purchase anything from Rue La La, but I seriously enjoy browsing and dreaming of limitless spending!

To become a member you have two options:

  1. Visit Rue La La and sign up for the waiting list. How long it takes before you become a full fledged member is uncertain.
  2. Send your email address to me at chatblanc1@gmail.com (I will not use your email for anything else, give it away or sell it!) and as a member I will send you an official Rue La La invite so you can become a member right away.
Oo La La ladies!
